Bodog Poker
Bodog Poker began operating in 2004 and their player base was recruited through their sportsbook and casino. This means that a large portion of the players are at a beginner level and fairly easy to beat.
We like Bodog Poker because the software is very fast and plays well and the games are relatively loose. The graphics, though not outstanding, are nice and there are some rather innovative functions which provide great playability. One such function is the 3-in-1 mode where 3 tables can be viewed and played all in the same window. And you can get pre-set table actions, a centralized heads-up display, and special beginners tournaments. Now those are some pretty cool features we think.
Bodog Poker was not originally known for its great bonuses but it has improved over time. These days you can receive a 110% Bonus up to $500. The 10% bonus will show up right away. Then, if you get the required number of hands within the first month, you'll receive an additional 100% bonus. Either way, you're in the money!
The beginner tournaments are an excellent way for the novices to play away from the sharks and gives them an easier way to make money. The payouts in these tournaments reach much farther down the finishing ranks than usual. So, instead of paying only the top spots, a "beginners" SnG will pay out prizes to the top 50% of the finishers. They use PokerTracker, a third party software that displays each hand history. It's surprising that the software, despite this functionality, still works so quickly.
You can also keep abreast of Tournament qualifers on Bodog's Leader Board, which is available right on their website. You can also find useful, reader-worthy content on their site such as how to survive long online tournaments to information on the Bubble Strategy. We could go on and on about Bodog Poker but why not give them a gry for yourself?
